Hello everyone. Today we are excited to share an E-design we have been working on. In case you have forgotten, this is a service that we offer on Etsy. This service is completed remotely via the computer. The customer sends photos of their space and ideas on what they would like the area to look like. We then complete a design board and send links to items to buy selections all within your budget. For more information on this, please click on our Design Service icon on the top of our page.
We recently started working with a fun family that had relocated to a new city and home. They sent us some photographs of their dining room and stated they wanted to reuse their existing furniture and introduce the color green into the space. They especially liked the green that was in a piece of art they already owned. (you can see the art in the first photo)
This is a picture they sent of the room before any updates. Not shown are plantation shutters that they had ordered prior to our design. Their wish list included adding a chandelier, finding a rug and possibly adding some draperies to the new shutters. They were very open to other design ideas.
Inspired by the lively green in the art work, we selected a rug with a lot of personality and color. It is a fantastic and on trend, yet classic over-dyed rug. From there we selected an over sized lantern style chandelier. It has clean lines and a modern vibe. We loved it in the gold finish, but also thought the antique silver would work well. We suggested adding two captains chairs to the end of the table to soften the space as it has a lot of dark wood. These chairs are super functional, and can be used elsewhere around the house as needed. A pillow in a Chartreuse color adds further softness and a pop of color. We agreed with the use of curtains in the space to add drama. We selected some that continued the original green, but added a few other hues as well. Two lamps on the buffet were chosen to add symmetry and repeat the vintage gold.
Of the things we proposed, we are most excited about the fun molding design we found to use under the chair rail. The husband part of this duo is very talented in woodworking and we thought this cool design would appeal to them.
The homeowners asked for a few changes to the original design. We went with slightly a different lamp and they are still not sure about what curtains to use. They have already purchased and received several of the items…including the fabulous chandelier in the gold finish! We can’t wait to see the after pictures. Stay tuned and we will share the finished space.
Until next time,
